" Through Rachael's amazing teachings I was able to get more strong in every aspect of myself - physical, emotional, spiritual, mental. Rachael pushed me to a place she knew I could reach in the most nurturing way possible, always with grace and humour. I'm still in awe of her strength and capacity for love. Four months ago I struggled to walk up stairs, and now I can do headstands, sit in meditation for an hour with ease, and have a strong back. I am also able to lead a full yoga class, and will forever have her teaching's etched on my heart. "
Rachael Fallon, in 200 hrs of Karma Yoga Teacher Training you shared years of yogic AND personal wisdom, experience, and skill that apply both on and off the mat. I took this training in part to sharpen my ability to teach yoga asana and show my students how to compassionately explore their own physical and personal being while doing so. But what you also gave, as yogi and a human being, were tools to help me genuinely and compassionately deepen my relationship with my own practice and become a better teacher AND student of yoga in the process. That is something that, for me as a yogi and a human being, I could not pursue without being able to witness it so clearly in you. I have further developed my ability for self-compassion and attention because you know how to share, with such elegance on and off the mat, personal transformation, and the depths of your commitment to developing and nurturing your own strengths as a yoga teacher and as a human being. Rachael, you will always be my yoga teacher, because for years I will work on lessons you have taught, like how to transcend doubt and fear with grace. And on the mat I will take the flow, sweat, depth, and exhilarating feeling of your classes with me and be so happy to explore my own ways to master and pass on an integrative, self-exploratory, and invigorating practice to my students. " Rachael weaves different wisdom traditions and modalities in such an artful way that speaks directly to the subtle body, resulting in me feeling lighter and simultaneously more grounded at the end of class. I love the freedom of movement and self inquiry she encourages, allowing the intelligence of our bodies to guide us, while holding a supportive and nurturing container. I have also had the pleasure of attending Rachaels women circle, where she incorporated sharing, movement and breathwork in a safe space, creating powerful shifts and releases and meaningful connections with other women in a short time. Her guided breathwork allowed me to drop in deep, and being able to integrate it after in a sharing circle was deeply healing. Rachael’s warm and open presence is matched by her skillful approach to the healing arts, creating a safe container for deep work and transformation to occur. "

" A vulnerable, yet nourishing experience that involved intuitive yoga, breath work and partner work among other activities. Eye gazing with my partner was a deeply moving experience that brought me to tears. Seeing and being seen is so profoundly validating. Rachael embodies a soul sensitivity that allows her to connect meaningfully with the woman in attendance. I would definitely recommend attending these circles, especially for those seeking a community of like-minded women. Her approach to teaching yoga is rooted in playfulness and ancient-medicine wisdom. Avant-garde yet equally nourishing, each class offers the opportunity to challenge and heal the mind and body through breath-work, sensuality and unique asanas. Rachael lives and breathes her role as a teacher and embodies a soul sensitivity that allows her to connect meaningfully with each of her students. "

" I spent many years going to yoga on and off again without truly feeling like I could connect to any single style of teaching. Then I took one of Rachael’s classes. Rachael gives you the freedom to move how you feel is right for your body, while also encouraging growth and exploration. I had never tried an inversion before her classes and now my yoga practice is not complete without going upside down. Many of her classes are conducted with music. This gave me the confidence to breathe loudly, to let loose, and to fall into a natural rhythm of movement.
But what I love the most about Rachael’s classes is that she teaches outside of the box: I am never bored and I am always challenged in new ways. Expect to sweat, expect to move with a freedom akin to dance, and above all expect to leave the class feeling utterly rejuvenated and joyous! " - Sia, Kula Student |
" To put into words the impact Rachael has had on me is no small feat. I started training with not a lot of yoga experience. Full of self doubt both on my mat and in my heart. I was in a dark place - feeling stuck and buried. Rachael not only saw that but saw through that. Her eyes are a mirror into your soul and the gentlest, soothing hug you could ever receive. She pushed me and saw a strength inside of me I never knew was possible. Her knowledge and love for yoga is infectious. Her asana practices and sequences always worked out to be exactly what I needed - in that moment of time - without me even having to say a word. You could cry and feel her support and you could rejoice and feel her excitement. There were many times that I wanted to give up. I didn't want to practice. Wanted to fight her every step of the way. But she held such a special sacred space that I found it impossible to say No. I couldn't walk away. I thought it was that I couldn't walk away from her when in reality she was a mirror to my soul and it was Me that I couldn't walk away from. Her classes are fun yet strict. Structured yet time to play and explore. Challenging yet freeing. Her guidance through the breathe, the heart centre, the asanas and into your soul are truly life altering in the best possible way. A mentor both on and off the mat and someone I am so thankful to have come into my life and I can call a dear friend. Namaste. "

" Rachael has a warm and compassionate approach which fuses her training and expertise in yoga with her comprehensive knowledge and skills in mental health support. She inspires and creates independent, creative yoga practitioners who are as comfortable creating on their mat at home as they are with her careful instruction in the classroom.
Learning from Rachael has changed my yoga practice and allowed me to switch my mindset from student to burgeoning yoga practitioner. I have also been fortunate to attend Rachael’s women’s yoga circles, where she has fostered a beautiful community of supportive women through movement, writing, meditation, and shared experience.
I encourage everyone to learn from this wonderful teacher! "

" Every now and then an instructor comes along your path that plays a pivotal role in your own personal transformation. Rachael is one such instructor. I am truly grateful to be a student in her yoga classes. There are many yoga instructors out there that provide guidance in yoga but with Rachael, yoga became an inward journey that served as cathartic release. On a weekly basis, Rachael’s knowledge provided an hour of processing pent up emotions and leaving class feeling like a warrior. Her insights provided motivation, her encouragement and knowledge created a safe space to play and try out new poses. Most importantly her classes allowed me to re-connect with myself in a way that I have not allowed myself to in a long time. Rachael is a true teacher and a yoga healer. Anyone would be lucky to be guided by her training. "

" Rachael has a saying: "a great teacher becomes a mirror for students to look deep into themselves" and it is this belief of hers that makes her one of the best teachers I have ever had. Not just because her love of yoga is genuine and infectious. Not only because her years of study and practice have made her deeply knowledgeable about asana. And not simply because her passion for teaching turns every class you take with her into an experience of peace. Above all Rachael is a great teacher because she creates a space for her students to discover themselves. And as you embark on this journey of profound self-inquiry, she is there for you; with an insight or anecdote that completely changes your thinking or with one of her amazing hugs that make you feel like you are literally wrapped up in love. If you have the opportunity to learn from Rachael, take it. It will change your life."

" It is with no hesitation that I say, Rachael Fallon changed my life. I feel so truly privileged to have had the opportunity to learn from such a powerful being. Her beautiful warmth and full heart was wrapped around our class at all times.
Rachael's ability to share her story and herself so openly created the safest place for us to breathe and explore. Her wealth of yogic knowledge and experience is truly inspiring. I am so grateful to have learned from someone who has travelled so far both personally and literally, studied with such influential leaders, and graciously shares any and all that she has gathered. Rachael walks and practices life as a true yogi and seeker. The unending support and encouragement I felt during my training forced me to find strength within myself, mentally and physically. Rachael softly pushed me when she knew I had the space to, and kindly asked me to rest when she knew I was being hard on myself. I found strength in poses I had no idea were even in my realm, and was awakened by simple alignment correction in poses I thought I knew well.My time with Rachael made me comfortable in finding my mat every morning, regardless of where I was at. My asana practice finally feels real; linking breath to movement, strength to stillness, mind to body. Rachael guided me towards a light within myself.
Namaste, beautiful teacher. You are a gift. "

" Rachael Fallon is one of the most inspiring and authentic yoga teachers that I’ve ever had the pleasure of learning from. She teaches directly from the heart space, providing a healing gift with each class that she teaches. She is dedicated to teaching from a place of authenticity, and always pays respect and honors the lineage of each yoga practice. Like a mother, Rachael nurtures each student, providing them with an equal opportunity to explore their strengths, weaknesses, and possibilities. In her teachings, she thoroughly breaks down each pose, each breath, and every health benefit possible in order for students to realize their full emotional, physical, and spiritual potential and growth. She provided me with just enough space to grow as a student, and her teachings will stay with me each and every day for the rest of my life. Rachael encompasses and lives the eight limbs of yoga, always reminding students that yoga is much more than the physical asana practice. She is yoga. She is love. She is not afraid to show her own vulnerability even as a teacher, and I believe this is essential to aspiring yoga students and future instructors. You cannot put a price on the quality of her teachings, for they derive directly from her heart, soul, and personal experiences. I am honored to tell the world that I was guided by Rachael. If every teacher taught from a place of authenticity and selfless service just as she does, healing would be occurring more often and in many forms in lives both on and off the mat. "

" When I first started practising yoga regularly, what became the beginning of now a 3 year consistent practice, Rachael’s class was the first one I attended at Yoga Space. I had had shorter periods of practice before, and had been doing yoga at home and wanted to move into a studio and continue to improve. The initial impression that I took away from the class was that it was challenging, not only in the sense of being a bit more advanced than I was prepared for, but also that she instructed us to do a portion of the class in self guided movement, something I was not comfortable with or prepared for. What I have come to learn from that experience, and of three years of attending Rachael’s classes and workshops, is that that kind of guidance, to check in with oneself, to move inwards and listen intuitively to your body, is that any great teacher will only want to guide you towards yourself. The practice of yoga is the practice of spending time to meet one’s self, or at least that is what I have gleaned from my still limited experience. In Rachel’s classes and workshops, she emphasizes this more than any instructor I have ever had. Through deeply therapeutic release work, emphasis on the breath over perfection of asana, self guided and improvised body movement, I have learned from her to listen to my body, to quiet my mind, and most importantly to recognize where my own trauma intersects and connects to those two things. Had I not had a teacher like Rachael from the start, I do not know if I would have been as dedicated to my practice or continued for so long. If I had not attended her workshops, I don’t know if I would have connected so deeply with the spiritual side of myself, something that had been long neglected and deeply needed nourishing. Rachael, in both her drop in classes and workshops, has guided me towards deep healing, has been an essential teacher along a long and meaningful path, a path that for a long time I didn’t believe could exist for myself.
Rachael understands the importance of yoga, of breath and body work on a deeper level than any instructor I have come across. It is beyond a workout, it is beyond a stress release, it is beyond the temporary escape that casual yoga practice promises. Her workshops and classes will lead you, if you let them, towards a deeper understanding of yourself, and to real, authentic healing. "

" Her classes are not like any other classes in Toronto. Inspiring, full of love, and flowing energy. Each class is a journey that words can not describe. Dark room, great music, and a series of asanas that leads to a healing process but feels like a free dance. She puts her soul into her teaching and her goal in teaching yoga is above and beyond asanas. I am truly grateful for being there every time. "

" Having Rachael at our YTT was a blessing. Rachael has this "presence" when she enters a room. You're suddenly attracted to her energy. Her calm nature makes her approachable and welcoming. Rachael made herself available almost 24/7 and her knowledge of yoga and psychotherapy made her an invaluable source of support. It was wonderful to speak to her and have someone help me understand the processes and frustration I was going though during YTT. As for her physical skill, the fluid like smooth, inspiring movement is incredible. Her teaching accommodated beginners to advanced students - Rachael is very in tune with the needs of the students she's teaching or assisting. Most of all she provided a safe place to practice asana. She adjusted with ease, told us to have fun with yoga as well as providing encouragement, guidance and a connection with each participant. "

" Rachael brings a wealth and world of experience to her teaching. Not only do her years of teaching and studying around the globe shine through in her thoughtful sequencing, but her genuine passion for sharing her experience with her students is at the centre of her classes. Rachael carefully integrates breath, release work, movement, mindfulness and meditation into her teaching, leaving you with an experience unlike any I’ve had in my 10 years of practice. She invites you to invigorate and strengthen the body while becoming more intimately attuned to your physical, mental and emotional self. Her yoga classes have become therapeutic for me and have allowed me to truly deepen my practice. Don’t miss the opportunity to take one of Rachael’s classes when you get a chance! "

" It takes a certain kind of person to offer true and deep healing and Rachael embodies everything you need to feel at home, at peace and allow for surrender. I’ve taken a few of Rachael’s yoga classes and attended her women’s circles and every time, left feeling like a whole new person. She introduces unique learnings she’s acquired by travelling and studying various movement practices around the world and teaches you the meaning of why we do what we do in class. Not only do you heal on your mat and clear any unwanted energy, but you are able to take what you learn with Rachael and apply it in every day life. The way Rachael speaks, moves, guides you is liberating and soothing. I know that if I need to get out of a rut or understand something I might be going through, after a session with Rachael, I'm sure I’ll leave a better, stronger version of myself. Rachael offers a space where you can create new rituals for yourself and the power inside to do so. Perception is everything and someone who can alter my perception so that it's easier to find truth is a hero in my books. Thank you, Rachel! From the bottom of my heart. "

" As a yoga instructor myself, Rachael's classes are ones I attend in order to learn. She has many good methods for finding alignment which demonstrate her knowledge in Iyengar yoga. Her vinyasa sequences are creative and often involve pieces of power yoga, yin yoga, and restorative yoga all in one session. She reads her room very well, putting students in positions and taking them through sequences that keep the student safe and challenged all at the same time. She often demonstrates how to use things like blocks, straps and walls to help beginner practices find the muscles they need in order to advance their practice. She takes time out of classes to work only on pranayama which is so often not done in Western yoga classes. She puts you upside down, gets you into deep and safe backbends, and teaches you to balance your body on your arms (chatturanga arms are so important). She's got a lot of knowledge from different teaching philosophies and has taught me to advance my practice as a student as well as made me a better teacher. "

" I came to be a student of Rachael's after a google search lead me to her Pay What You Can classes at the Norman Felix Art Gallery. I also attended her classes in the park this summer. I have since moved back to the UK but I wanted to take this opportunity to express my gratitude. Rachael's classes are a real gift. Accessible, balanced and, thanks to this teacher's kindness and desire to give to her community, affordable. In Rachael, my friends and I found an outstanding teacher. I think there are two key reasons why we enjoyed Rachael's classes so much. The first is Rachael herself. As a teacher she is welcoming, honest and willing to share her own story. She makes her students feel comfortable and safe. Rachael takes obvious joy in teaching yoga and, it seems, in life. This happiness is an inspiration to her students. She balances perfectly the need to lead and instruct with a friendly approach. I think 'balance' is probably the best way to describe the second reason I took so much from Rachael's classes. The encouragement to progress and push oneself balanced with a sense of fun, for example. (Headstands in the park are great example of how Rachael makes yoga fun.) The balance of the spiritual and emotional aspects of the practice with the need for clear instruction and correct alignment. I understand that Rachael has practiced yoga in many different countries for many years and it is perhaps this experience that allows her to so skillfully balance her classes. I brought friends of different levels along to class and they all commented on this. The range of poses and levels of difficulty were also accommodating to both newcomers and experienced yogis. Discussion and questions were genuinely encouraged at the end of each class. The joy Rachael takes in teaching, her desire to give to the community, her vast experience in many different cultures and friendly, honest personality make her an excellent teacher for students of all abilities and ages. I will be forever grateful for Rachael for giving me so much of her time and patience. I hope I will always make yoga part of my life, thank you for the solid foundation and inspiration. "

" Rachael and I have spent many hours in Reiki restorative yoga together. Her ability to hold the space and create a container for students to compassionately explore their body continues to deepen as she shares the wisdom of her own experiences. There is always an invitation to reflect on the power of movement in her classes. Bonus to her creative flow sequences is the playlist always being on point. I always leave her classes refreshed, curious and with a few new songs in my pocket. "

" Rachael's classes are the ultimate blissful experience between practice and philosophy. Her approach to teaching promotes health and healing through breath work and playfulness, working to strengthen both the spiritual and physical aspects of a practice. Rachael challenges her students to find their playful side and really explore it throughout her classes, of course keeping in mind any physical limitations and level of experience. Let down your guard, shed your ego, and liberate your inner, playful child in a safe, supportive space. "

" Of course, your focus on inversions is the perfect and most obvious example of the way that you empower us as students to be brave and challenge ourselves - not for the show or to be “good at yoga”, but rather to provide ourselves with real therapeutic benefits to the mind and body. I love how you take your time to demo a sequence - never rushing it. It allows us to learn by watching step-by-step in a series of mini tutorials. Seeing you do the sequence (often a type of inversion) is really powerful for a few reasons: 1) I like to clearly see exactly how I’m supposed to set up my own body in order to do the pose properly, 2) you make it look so graceful and beautiful to watch, it inspires me to want to copy you however I can, and 3) you seem to always demo at just the right time - when we are tired and need a break, so it’s a win-win. While we’re on the inversion topic, I really like how you take the time to explain the scientific benefits of what inversions do for us (i.e. working directly with stress and anxiety, the metabolism, releasing dopamines in the brain, etc.) and explicitly advise us NOT to think of these poses as a way to show off. You also mention how anyone can do them, and they’re not as hard as you think. The combination of all of this gives me the motivation I needed to make it happen for myself, and without your teaching I would have never even felt the need to try - nevermind accomplish - a headstand (even if it’s against the wall!). You also provide the perfect level of demonstrative instruction - remaining at the front of the class for the most part, and showing us the moves but then stopping yourself once we’ve started and get the hang of it, so that you can look around and observe if we’re doing it correctly. While you check if we’re doing it right, I notice that you generally choose to re-explain if need be, and focus on using words to teach us all again if it's necessary, instead of relying on loads of individual hands-on adjustments, which a lot of other teachers do (I personally see this as the easy way out!). Overall, we feel like we’re doing the practice WITH you, but that you’re still the teacher and the clear leader. I find that teachers seem either totally disconnected from the practice and simply instruct a class (walking around and listing out instruction), or they just run through a flow but don’t seem to really be offering any tailored guidance or assistance to their students. You have mastered the perfect balance. On a similar note, while you are an inspirational vision and teacher to watch and be guided through a practice by, you don’t “take over” and make it about yourself. I always feel like it’s my own practice and have a very deep sense of internalization when doing your classes. I think this is due to a combination of the fact that your voice is very gentle yet instructive, you often advise that we close our eyes, you explicitly give us sequences and time to do things on our own or at least on our own breath cycles, and you start the class by literally saying let's make this a “heart-centered yoga practice today”. All of these little touches build on each other to truly make that a reality.
In terms of other random things that I love about your class that just make the experience so much more epic for me personally:
In terms of other random things that I love about your class that just make the experience so much more epic for me personally:
- The music you play...seriously SO. EPIC. Totally takes the entire thing to the next level, and gets me in the zone during your class. Also love how you play it loud - YES!
- You always have an element of moving meditation.
- I like how you sometimes sit and chat with us for a few minutes after the class - after you say Namaste and the class has clearly come to an end. It makes us feel really connected to you and I appreciate that you clearly care about how we’re feeling directly after the practice.
- You always give time for self-practice.
- Your style and clothes and hair...I get that this is a weird thing to say but I’m observant and for me it genuinely makes the class more enjoyable HA! "
